Chef Tom Welton has a lifetime of culinary excellence. In 1963, Tom’s parents opened Harvel’s Restaurant in downtown Miamisburg. The restaurant became a local landmark and Tom, even as a small boy, worked in the business. He loved the restaurant industry, and decided to further his education at the Culinary Institute of America.
Upon graduation, Tom returned to Dayton and after a few years honing his craft at Meadowbrook and Moraine Country Club, he bought his Dad’s old restaurant. He reopened it as TW’s in 1983, and earned praise from both local and national dining organizations. The restaurant’s 1920s art décor, was a perfect complement to it’s classical cuisine .
In 1991, Tom sold TW’s and enjoyed a much deserved vacation. . Afterward, he started work on a new venture, Welton’s Restaurant in Kettering. Once again the public was pleased.
During his time at TW’s and Welton’s, customers often asked Tom for catering services. So in addition to the restaurants, Tom also started catering. Tom insisted the catering menu be as high of quality as the cuisine in his restaurants.
